Hydrologic Cycle
| Term | Definition |

| Aquifer | A layer of sediments that are saturated and can transfer groundwater to be drunk or used for irrigation. |
| Tributary | A small body of water that flows into a larger body of water. |
| Groundwater | Water that is under ground or under sediments. |
| Watershed | An area of land that includes a set of rivers and streams that combines into another body of water. |
| Water Table | The top border of groundwater. |
| Runoff | Water that flows/drains from high to low areas. |
| Surface Water | Water that is located on the above the surface of Earth. |
| Hydrologic Cycle | The process in which water rotates through Earth in different states of matter. |
| Porosity | The measure of spaces or tiny holes in an object. |
| Channel | A narrow body of water that is joining 2 larger bodies of water. |
| Condensation | When water vapor in the clouds cools down, it becomes liquid again. |
| Evaporation | When heat causes the water to turn into water vapor. |
| Divide | A boundary separating watersheds. |
| Precipitation | When a form of water falls to the Earth from the sky. |
| Permeability | How easily a gas or liquid can go through an object. |
| Transpiration | Plants lose water and it gets absorbed into the air. |
| Sublimation | Solid transforms into a gas without becoming a liquid. This process skips one step. |
