Vocabulary related to Light

TermDefinition
absorb To soak up or take something in.
lens A clear piece of curved glass or plastic that bends passing light to focus or spread the light rays.
medium Substances through which something travels.
prism A transparent object with flat surfaces that refracts light.
reflection Energy waves bouncing off the surface of an object.
refraction The bending or redirection of energy waves as they pass from one substance to another.
transmit To pass something from one place to another.
bend shape or force (something straight) into a curve or angle.
light energy Energy that allows us to see.
mirror Something that reflects light.
