QuestionAnswer
What does photosynthetic mean? Organisms that can use carbon dioxide and energy from the sunlight to produce oxygen.
What does GFP stand for? green fluorescent protein.
What does extinct mean? A species that has completely died out.
How do oceans play a role in regulating Earth's climate and weathers? By absorbing and releasing heat energy.
How do we depend on Earth's ocean? Goods and products are transported throughout the ocean. Gold, silver, etc are retrieved through mining.
What are estuaries? They are coastal water bodies that receive river flow and open into the river.
What is going on with water pollution? People are dumping waste into sewers or rivers that empty into the ocean.
Invasive species are new organisms that are introduced to non-native ecosystems. Why could this be a bad thing? Invasive species can promote the spread of disease.
What does global warming mean? A trend of climate change observed by scientists that shows a average temperatures on Earth to be gradually increasing.
