| Rotation/Rotate | To spin or make a circular motion on its own axis |
| Revolution/Revolve | To go all the way around |
| Axis | An imaginary line which the body rotates |
| Equator | An imaginary line dividing the Northern and Southern hemisphere |
| Tilt | A sloping position |
| Day/Night Cycle | Caused by the Earth's rotation or spinning on its axis once every 24 hours |
| Earth | 3rd planet from the sun, only planet with life. It has an atmosphere and tectonic plates. |
| Moon | Earth's natural satellite. Made of rock, no life or water. Gets its light from the sun. No atmosphere. |
| Sun | Star at the center of our Solar System. Huge ball of magnetic plasma. It has a magnetic field. Mostly made of hydrogen. |
| Planets in order | Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune "My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nachos" |
