Characteristics of Life

| What is External movement? | Movement from place to place. Ex. Walking |
| What is Metabolism? | The sum total of all chemical reactions in an organism that use or release energy. |
| Define Stimulus. | A change in the environment. |
| What is Asexual Reproduction? | The creation of new organism from one parent. |
| What is Sexual Reproduction? | The creation of a new organism from two parents (or sex cells). |
| How many cells are all organisms made up of? | 1 or more. |
| What is an alarm clock going off an example of? | A Stimulus |
| What is adaptation? | The ability to survive in an environment. |
| What is an increase in size? | Growth |
| What are some adaptations of a polar bear? | Thick layer of fur; Long sharp claws to walk on ice and to pull heavy seals out of the water; sharp teeth to kill prey. |
