| Force | A push or pull that can change the motion of an object. |
| Balanced forces | Separate forces on an object that combined do not change the movement of the object. |
| Unbalanced forces | Forces on an object that cause change in the motion of the object. |
| Net force | The sum of all the forced acting on an object |
| At rest | The state of an object when it not in motion |
| Motion | The change in an position with respect to time and in comparison to the position of other objects used as reference point. |
| Speed | The rate of change of position or distance traveled with respect to time units in which speed is measured are expressed as distance per time(example:meters per second). |
| Direction | A straight path that an object can move along. |
| Friction | Force that opposes the motion of one surface across another. |
| Frame of reference | A system that used axes or background objects to measure the position or movement of an object. |
| Velocity | Measurement of speed and direction of an object. |
| Acceleration | The rate of change in an object's speed. |
