4 Systems of Earth

The Earth's Four Systems

TermDefinition
atmosphere is made up of a mixture of gases that is in the air.
biosphere the part of the Earth in which life exists.
geosphere a layer of rock and soil that make up the crust and the core of the Earth.
hydrosphere includes all of Earth's water.
water cycle the continuous process by which water moves from Earth's surface to the atmosphere and back.
water vapor water in the form of gas
precipitation water that falls to the Earth's surface in the form of snow, rain, sleet, or hail.
sediments tiny pieces of sand, rock, and shells that form soil and rock.
