| Convective Zone | The suns radiative zone region in where moving gases transfer energy. |
| Radiative Zone | A cold, dense region of the sun between the core and convective zone. |
| Photosphere | The surface part of the sun that is visible. |
| Chromosphere | The middle layer in the sun's atmosphere above the photosphere. |
| Corona | The last or outer layer in the sun's atmosphere. |
| Sunspot | A cooler, darker area of gas on the sun's photosphere. |
| Prominence | A reddish, large loop of gas that sticks out from the sun's surface and linking parts of the sunspot region. |
| Solar Flare | A gas eruption from the surface of the sun that occurs when the loops in the sunspot region contact. |
| Coronal Mass Ejection | Coronal gas that the sun throws into space. |
| Kepler's Law | A theory of laws describing planetary orbiy around the sun. |
| Eccentricity | The measure of a circular orbit. |
| Elliptical Orbit | An oval shaped orbit. |
| Formula for Eccentricity | The distance between foci divided by the major axis length. |
