| Chemosynthesis | process by which ATP is synthesized by using chemicals as an energy source instead of light. |

| Ingestion | taking in of food from the environment. Is not directly useful to the cells and must be changed. |
| Absorption | process by which nutrients move out of one system and into another. |

| Anorexia | a lack or loss of appetite for food due to the desire to lose weight |

| Capillary | fine branching blood vessels that form a network between the arterioles and venules |
