Calories is the measurement of energy in food
Chemosynthesis process by which ATP is synthesized by using chemicals as an energy source instead of light.
Energy strength for physical and mental activity
Ingestion taking in of food from the environment. Is not directly useful to the cells and must be changed.
Absorption process by which nutrients move out of one system and into another.
Bulimia eating disorder
Anorexia a lack or loss of appetite for food due to the desire to lose weight
Digestion breaks down food into simpler form that can be used by organisms
Peristalsis the involuntary constriction and relaxation of the muscles of the intestine
Cellulose substance that is mainly in the plant cell wall

Roughage passage of food and waste products through the gut
Egestion releases of indigestible food from the large intestine after water and vitamin have been reabsorbed
