Electrical

TermDefinition
Battery a container consisting of one or more cells, in which chemical energy is converted into electricity and used as a source of power.
circuit a path between two or more points along which an electrical current can be carried.
open circuit an electrical circuit that is not complete.
conductor an object or type of material that allows the flow of an electrical current in one or more directions.
transformer an apparatus for reducing or increasing the voltage of an alternating current.
voltage an electromotive force or potential difference expressed in volts.
kilowatt a measure of 1,000 watts of electrical power.
static two objects that are not good electrical conductors are rubbed together, and electrons from one of the objects rub off onto the other.
