Electrical definitons

TermDefinition
Battery a container consisting of one or more cells, in which chemical energy is converted into electricity and used as a source of power.
Circuit a roughly circular line, route, or movement that starts and finishes at the same place.
Open Circuit an electrical circuit that is not complete.
Conductor a material or device that conducts or transmits heat, electricity, or sound, especially when regarded in terms of its capacity to do this.
Transformer an apparatus for reducing or increasing the voltage of an alternating current.
Voltage an electromotive force or potential difference expressed in volts.
Kilowatt Static The most common unit of measurement on the electricity meter is the kilowatt hour
