Type 1 s/s High blood sugar, dehydrated cells, Wt loss, polyphagia, polydipsia polyuria. Low energy, sleepy , blurred vision, ketosis
Type 2 percents 90-95
Type 2 risk factors Overweight , sedentary life.
Type 2 genetic? Strong signs it is
Type 2 insulin? Not in most cases. Metformin. oral meds
Type 2 s/s Tired, blurred vision, frequent infections, polyphagia, polydipsia slow healing wounds
What lab test for diabetes 2 plasma glucose tests on consecutive days
Types of diabetes tests. Fasting= above 126 Non fasting =above 200 any time of day . 2 hour plasma = above 200 at 2 hour mark during glugose tolerance test.
Test to check blood sugar control? Glucosolated hemoglobin

When to call doc during sick day? vomits more than once, Difficult breathing, BG above 300 on 2 measurements. Mod or large ketones in urine.
