Transverse Wave A wave that moves the medium in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the wave travels
Medium Material through which a wave travels
Longitudinal Wave A wave in which the vibration of the medium is parallel to the direction the wave travels
Transverse a wave that consists of oscillating electric and magnetic fields, which radiate outward at the speed of light
Mechanical Wave A wave that requires a medium through which to travel
Amplitude the height of a wave's crest
Wavelength Horizontal distance between the crests or between the troughs of two adjacent waves
Wave Period the time interval between the passage of successive crests at a stationary point
Frequency the number of complete wavelengths that pass a point in a given time
Wave Speed the speed at which a wave travels
Electric Current The continuous flow of electric charges through a material
Voltage an electromotive force or potential difference expressed in volts.
Resistance A material's opposition to the flow of electric current.
Electric Current a set of electrical components connected such that they provide one or more complete paths for the movement of charges
Parallel Circuit A circuit that contains more than one path for current flow.
Series Circuit A circuit in which all parts are connected end to end to provide a single path of current.
