Vocabulary for Cells and Microorganisms

cell membrane a covering that surrounds and protects the cell

nucleus the control center of the cell
organelle a small structure that does a certain job in a cell
cell wall a stiff covering outside the cell membrane
chloroplast use light energy from the sun to make food for the plant cell
microorganism living things that are too small to be seen without a microscope
bacteria single-celled organism that does not have a nucleus
antibiotic medicine that cures diseases caused by bacteria
