Weathering, Erosion, Deposition and Landforms
| Term | Definition |

| Wind, Water, and Ice | causes slow changes to the Earth's surface |
| weathering | breaks rocks into smaller and smoother rocks or sediments (carves, wears down, chips away) |
| erosion | moves rocks (carries, takes) |
| deposition | drops rock in a new place (piles up, settles) |
| u-shaped valley | landform created when a glacier (or ice) weathers rocks and erodes sediments |
| canyon | landform created when a river (or water) weathers rocks and erodes sediments |
| delta | landform created when a river (or water) slows down and deposits sediments at the mouth of the river |
| sand dune | landform created when wind deposits sand into a pile |
