Space Cycles: Lunar Cycle & Earth's Movements
| Term | Definition |

| Waxing | To increase gradually in size. |
| Waning | To decrease gradually in size. |
| Rotation | The spin of an object on its axis. |
| Revolution | The orbit or movement of one object around another. |
| Axis | An imaginary line through the middle of an object. |
| Hemisphere | One half of a sphere, such as one half of the Earth. |
| Spring Tide | The high and low tides that occur twice a month, at the New Moon and Full Moon phases. |
| Neap tide | The least extreme type of tides that occur twice a month, during the First and Last Quarter Moon phases. |
| High Tide | A tide that has the highest levels of water and is occurs in areas of the Earth that are either facing the moon or directly opposite the moon. |
| Low Tide | A tide that has the lowest level of water and occurs on the areas of the Earth where the Moon is perpendicular to the Earth. |
| Lunar | Of or relating to the moon. |
