PPE safety

TermDefinition
hard hat Protects head from low, hanging, or falling objects.
ear plugs Protects the ears from loud noises.
Respirator Protects lungs from dusts, fumes, gasses and vapors.
vest Increases visibility to keep workers from being run over or struck by objects at a job site.
fire retardant jacket Same properties flame-resistant fabrics inherently have. As a result of these chemical procedures, flame-retardant fabrics become self-extinguishing and slow-burning.
face shield Provides additional protection for the face from particles, and chemical splashes but is not impact resistant.
safety glasses protect the eyes from impacts with flying objects.
coveralls A one-piece protective garment worn for heavy manual work.
cut resistance gloves protects the hands from chemicals, rough or sharp parts, or heat.
sleeves Protect the wearer against specific hazards, and are most often used to protect against injuries caused by abrasion, slashing, electric shock, chemicals or heat.
dust mask Protect against dusts encountered during construction or cleaning activities.
nomex hood Flame retardant meta-aramid material.
steel toe shoes Protective reinforcement in the toe which protects the foot from falling objects or compression.
