Ecosystems
| Term | Definition |

| Abiotic Factors | The non-living things within an ecosystem. Examples: Sunlight, Water, Soil, Temperature |
| Biotic Factors | The living things within an ecosystem. Plants, Animals, Humus of Soil, Bacteria, Fungi |
| Ecosystem | An area made up of living and non-living things. |
| Population | A group of organisms of the same species in the same area. |
| Community | An area formed by different populations of living species. |
| Habitat | A place where an organism lives that provides the resources it needs to survive; it may change depending on the time of day, time of year, weather factors, resources available, etc. |
| Organism | An individual of any living species. |
| Biome | A large area/ecosystem identified by its climate, plant, and animal life. |
| Biosphere | The worldwide collection of all ecosystems. |
