Getting to Know: Solutions 7th Grade

QuestionAnswer
What is a solution? A mixture that is homogenous.
What does homogenous mean? The same kind.
What does heterogeneous mean? Different.
What is a solute? A material that dissolves into a solvent.
What is solvent? When you dissolve salt and water to make saltwater.
What is the difference between a diluted solution and a saturated solution? One is dissolved more than the other.
How can temperature and pressure impact a solvent? The more salt can be dissolved.
What makes water "The universal solvent"? Water can dissolve many solutes.
