Earth's, Days, Years, and Seasons

TermDefinition
Rotation Tne spinning of a body, such as a planet on its axis.
Day The time it takes a planet to complete one full rotation.
Axis Imaginary line runs North pole to South pole.
Year The time it takes to complete one full revolution.
Revolution The motion of a body that travels around another body.
1 rotation 24 hours
1 revolution 365 days
Season A division of the year that ia characterized by temperature and other weather trends.
Solsstice The area of sunlight is at a maximum in one hemisphere and at a minimum in the other hemisphere.
Equinox Sunlight shines EQUALLY on the Northern and Southern hemispheres.
