eclipses and tides

TermDefinition
Lunar eclipse When the Earth is situated between the moon and the sun
Solar eclipse When the moon is in between the Earth and the sun
Partial solar eclipse Occur when the moon comes between the Earth and the sun, but not completely, leaving part of the sun visible
Total solar eclipse When the moon hides all of the suns light
Annular solar eclipse The moon hides only the middle part of the sun.The sun looks like a ring
Tide Periodic rise and fall in sea level
Neap tide Less intense variation in sea level.
Spring tide Intense variation in sea level
