Rocks and Minerals

What are rocks made of? Minerals
Which questions could be used to identify a mineral? What is its color? What is its hardness? What is its texture? What is its luster?
Mrs. Rogo scratches a soft mineral with a hard mineral. What will most likely happen when the minerals are scratched against each other? The harder mineral will scratch the softer mineral.
A scientist wants to find out what type of mineral she has. What questions could she ask to help identify the mineral? What is the color, hardness, and luster?
What is the difference between a rock and a mineral? A rock can be made up of minerals, but minerals cannot be made up of a rock.
Part of a gemstone's value is based on the way it shines in reflected light. The way a mineral reflects light is described as the mineral's luster.
What is the best question to ask to determine if the sample is a rock? Is the sample made up of one or more minerals?
