science words to know

TermDefinition
label it's used for variety of purpose like product identification, advertising and warnings.
scale is defined as a system or series of marks used for measuring or registering.
plot is a literary term that refers to how narrative point are arranged to make a story understandable to the reader or observer.
interpret mostly like a hidden meaning of parable to construe or understand in a particular way.
variable the experimenter changes to test their dependent variable.
independent variable it's defined as a variable that is changed or controlled in a scientific experiment.
dependent variable is the variable that's being tested and measured in a scientific experiment.
problem something you don't understand but you can do an experiment to help you understand.
research can be followed a series of steps and the standard protocol of the experiment, depending on the conventions of the field of science.
hypothesis an idea or explanation that you can test through study and experimentation.
experiment a test under controlled conditions that is made to demonstrate a known truth to examine the validity of a hypothesis or to determine the efficacy of something previously untried.
data it's an information collected using specific methods for a specific purpose of studying or analyzing.
conclusion it's used in a few sentences and is used in a summary to support your conclusion.
control (group) in a experiment or a study that does not receive treatment by the researchers and is then used as a benchmark to measure how the other tested subject do.
experimental (group) it receives the variable being tested.
constant(s) it's a number that is fixed and known it's unlike the variable which changes with the context.
controlled variables it's either a person, group or event that is used as a constant and unchanging standard of comparison in scientific experimentation.
placebo it's a fake treatment,an inactive substance like sugar, distilled water,or saline solution.
