Living things need what to survive Food, Air, Water, Sunlight and Space
Plants make their own food from what 3 things? Sunlight, water and carbon dioxide
Living things need what to produce energy from their food? Oxygen
Carrying Capacity Highest # of any population that an ecosystem can support
How can an ecosystem become unbalanced? Fires, drought and human causes such as over fishing.
What carries nutrients from the soil to the plant? Roots
How do plants get the air they need? Tiny openings called Stomata
Water + carbon dioxide = Sugar/Glucose
What is Photosynthesis? Process of changing carbon dioxide & water into sugar.
What happens to energy during Photosynthesis? It is transformed from light energy to chemical energy.
As plants use glucose, what do they release into the the air? Oxygen + Water
Plants produce their own food so they are called: Producers
Animals do NO produce their food so they are called: Consumers
Animals that eat PLANTS: Herbivores
Animals that eat other ANIMALS: Carnivores
Animals that eat BOTH plants and animals: Omnivores
Food chain shows what: How energy is passed from one organism to another in an ecosystem.
