organism a living thing
habitat an environment that gives an organism what they need to live, grow and reproduce
biotic factor parts of a habitat that are or were once alive and that interact with an organism (trees and plants)
abiotic factor nonliving parts of an organisms habitat (water, oxygen, space, light, etc.)
population all the members or one species living in a particular area
community all the different populations that live together in an area
ecosystem the community of organisms that lives in a particular area, along with the nonliving environment
limiting factor an environmental factor that causes a population to stop growing or to get smaller in size (like a disease that infects organisms)
