Divisibility Rules
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| divisible by 2 | last digit is even |
| divisible by 3 | sum of the digits is divisible by 3 |
| divisible by 4 | if the last two digits are divisible by 4 |
| divisible by 5 | if the last digit is 5 or 0 |
| divisible by 6 | if the number is even and divisible by 3 |
| divisible by 7 | Take the last digit, double it, and subtract it from the rest of the number; if the answer is divisible by 7 (including 0) |
| divisible by 8 | last three digits are divisible by 8 |
| divisible by 9 | sum of the digits is divisible by 9 |
| divisible by 10 | if the last digit is 0 |
| divisible by 11 | Add and subtract digits in an alternating pattern (add digit, subtract next digit, add next digit, etc). Then check if that answer is divisible by 11. |
| divisible by 12 | if the number is divisible by 3 & 4 |
