Electricity and Magnetism

| insulator | a material through which an electric charge moves with difficulty |
| static electricity | an excess of negative or positive charge in an object |
| series circuit | a circuit in which electric charge can only flow in one circular path |
| electric current | an electric charge in motion |
| parallel circuit | a circuit that has 2 or more part through which electric charges may flow |
| conductor | a material through which an electric charge can move easily |
| generator | a machine that produces electric energy by turning coils of wire around powerful magnets |
| filament | a thin, coiled wire that can get very hot without melting |
| magnetism | a force that acts on moving electric charges and magnetic materials |
| electromagnet | a magnet that only works when electricity is provided |
