Terms used in the herndetity unit

TermDefinition
Asexual reporductiomn Reproduction using only one parent that is an exact copy of that parent.
Binary fission When a single cell organism splits in two to reproduce.
Budding When an offspring grows out of a living cell.
Regengeration When a new organism is grow out of a dead part of a cell(s)
sexual reproduction when two parents are needed to create an offspring with uniqe traits.
Internal fertilization when fertilization occours insdie of a parent organism to have a better chance of offspring survival
External fertilization When one parent fetilizes the offsrping outside of the parents body, higher risk of offsrping death.
Angio sperm A plant that flowers or bares fruit.
Anther The part of the stamen that collects pollen.
Filament A thread like part of the plant that supports it.
Stamen The fertilization organ of th male plant.
Stigma The female organ of a plant that collects pollen
Style The part that is attached to the stigma and overay
Ovary The part of the femlae plant repsonible for fertilization.
Pistle The femlae part that houses the unborn seeds.
Pollination When pollen is spread from external sources to a femlae plant.
