Radio Waves

Radio Waves These waves have the longest wavelength of all the electromagnetic waves.
Microwaves We use these waves to cook food, transmit information, and helps to predict weather.
Infrared Radiation used in you TV remote to change channels, anything that gives off heat releases this type of waves.
Visible Light The only portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that can be seen
Ultraviolet the sun produces this type of wave, which can cause sunburn.
X-Ray These waves can penetrate soft tissue like skin and muscle and are used to take X-ray picture
Gamma Radiation Waves with the highest frequency on the electromagnetic spectrum.
