TermDefinition
tectonic plates the two sub layers of the earths crust.
tremor a tremor is a shaking in a person or earth
epicentre the epicenter is the central location of the earthquake,point of land right above where an earthquake begins.
core the central, innermost, or most essential part of anything.
crust the outer layer made out of rock.
mantle the third layer of the earth that is liquid
faultline A line on a rock surface.
seismograph an instrument that measures and records details of earthquakes.
Richter scale measures how strong a earthquake is.
Mercalli scale a scale of earthquake intensity.
molten made by melting and casting.
primary waves a wave that travels through the interior of the earth and is usually the first wave to be recorded by a seismograph.
secondary waves a wave that travels through the earth and is usually the second wave to reach a seismograph.
surface waves a seismic wave that travels along or parallel to the earth's surface
liquefaction earthquake shakes the ground, water rises from the ground and turns the ground into liquid.
primary effects a seismic wave that travels along or parallel to the earth's surface.
secondary effects happens after an event.
seismic relating to earthquakes or other vibrations of the earth and its crust.
benefits something that might had been good about a tsunami, earthquake, volcano and land slide
paving a surface made up of flat stones laid in a patter.
resistant something that is stable, strong and flexible.
hemisphere half of the earth.
continent any of the world's main places.
