Dynamic Earth

TermDefinition
tectonic plates Big slabs of rock that float on the mantle and create earthquakes.
mantle the biggest layer of the earth just under the crust.
liquifaction liquifaction is when the ground turns to liquid caused by an earthquake.
land slide landslides happen when the earths soil gets shaken loose from the mountain and falls down.
tsunami tsunamis are giant waves that come rushing to shore from the ocean caused by an earthquake.
sieches are mini tsunamis that can happen in baths, pools, or even fountains.
turbine a turbine is like a fan that turns water into steam.
megma megma is lava that is still under ground and hasn't risen to the surface.
