| epicenter | were the most energy from the earthquake occurs |
| hyposphere | were the earthquake starts |
| core | the core is all the different layers |
| mantle | the mantle is the layer were the tectonic plates float on and what we use the heat and energy from |
| crust | the layer were we live on |
| fault lines | where two plates meet |
| landslids | when a big mass of earth falls and slides down |
| primary effects | caused by an earthquake |
| Secondary effects | a result of the primary effect |
| tension | when two plates push together and then quick pull apart |
| compression | when two plates push upwards and create mountains and valleys |
| shearing | when two plates go forward and back near each other |
