| Richter Scale | used to measure the power of earthquakes |
| Mercalli Scale | Used to measure the damage of an earthquake |
| Fault line | Part where the tectonic plates meet |
| Focus | Part where the earthquake starts below the earth |
| Geothermal Energy | It is water from underneath the earth and turned into electricity. |
| Aftershocks | Occur after the main earthquake |
| Pyroclastic flow | Is like a landslide |
