Dynamic Earth

TermDefinition
Tectonic plates sub layers of the earths crust.
tremor is a aftershock after a earthquake.
epicentre the point on the earth's surface vertically above the focus of an earthquake.
hypocentre it beneath the surface .
core it is in the center of the earth.
crust under the layer of dirt that we live on.
mantle is the layer of magma rock just under the crust.
fault line
primary waves they are the fastest moving waves and can go through solid rock.
secondary wave they are slower then primary and can only go though liquid .
liquefactio
sismograph
richer scale
molten
secondary effect cased by the primary effects.
compretion to things pushed together.
tention
shearing to things with one sliding one way and the other way.
primary effects created by an earthquakes.
