biological world (cells)

QuestionAnswer
what is the cell membrane surrounds the cell and controls which materials move in and out of the cell
what is cytoplasm? a jelly like substance surrounded by the cell membrane and contains the nucleus and other dissolved substances such as oxygen
what is the nucleus? the control center of the cell. it contains DNA (genes)
what is the cell wall? strengthens the cell. this makes plant cells stronger than animal cells
what is the chloroplast? contains chlorophyll which allows the plant cell to absorb sunlight for photosynthesis
what are vacuoles membrane bound structures that contain liquid. animal cells have smaller ones while plant cells often have larger ones full of water
what are in animal cells? the nucleus, cytoplasm and the cell membrane
what are in plant cells? vacuoles, the nucleus. cytoplasm, chloroplast, cell wall and the cell membrane
what are the differences in plant cells and animal cells? the plant cell contains chloroplast which allows plants to absorb sunlight for photosynthesis, plant cells have large vacuoles full of water and plant cells have the cell wall which srtengthens it
