Organization of the Body

What is a cell membrane? The outer covering of the cell.
What is the cytoplasm? The substance between the cell membrane and the nuclear membrane.
ribosomes make enzymes and other proteins
endoplasmic reticulum carries proteins and other substances throught cutoplasm
golgi apparatus Chemically processes the molecules from the endoplasmic reticulum and then packages them into vesicles
mitochondria involved in cellular metabolism and respiration
lysomomes contain enzymes that can digest food compound
cilia hairlike processes that project from epithelial cells; help propel mucus, dust particles, and other foreign substances from the respiratory tract
