How is the rotation of Venus different from that of most other planets and moons? it rotates from east to west and the opposite of the other planets
What is so thick that there is never a sunny day on Venus' surface? the atmosphere
What is the greenhouse effect? the trapping of heat by the atmosphere of Venus
Why is Mars called the “red planet”? It has a slightly reddish tinge when you see it in the sky
What is the atmosphere on Mars composed of? carbon dioxide
Why do some regions on Mars look darker than others? wind storms arise and blow the dust around on the surface and the darker regions are often where the dust has been blown away
What do the polar ice caps on Mars contain? frozen water and carbon dioxide
Why does Mars have seasons? it is tilted on its axis
What does Mars have on its surface? giant volcanoes
What are the two moons of Mars? phobos & deimos
