Electrical Circuits
Terms for electrical circuits
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Ohm's Law | I=V/R |
| I | Current(Amperes)(Amps) |
| V | Voltage(Volts) |
| R | Resistance(ohms) |
| Voltage | a force that pushes the current through the circuit |
| Resistance | friction that impedes flow of the current through the circuit |
| Current | The actual "substance" that is flowing through the wires of the circuit(electrons) |
| Simple Circuits | Series Circuit and Parallel Circuit |
| Series Circuits | a circuit with 1 path of electricity |
| Parallel Circuits | a circuit with multiple paths of electricity |
| Measuring Current | electric current is measured in Amps(A) using a ammeter connected in series to the circuit |
| Measuring Voltage | measured in volts(V) using a voltmeter |
