| What is mass? | Mass is the amount of matter in an object |
| What is gravity? | the result of mass, all objects experience attraction |
| What is Newton's first law of gravity? | Inertia, which means an object at rest or in motion will stay at rest or in motion until acted upon by another force |
| What is revolution? | The movement, or orbiting, completely around an object. In our case, the Earth revolves, or orbits, around the Sun. One full lap around = 1 calendar year. |
| Does gravity become stronger or weaker the farther the distance between objects? | It becomes weaker as the distance increases. |
| What causes us to have seasons? | The Earth's axis tilt |
| What causes us to have day and night? | The Earth rotating on its axis. |
| What holds planets in orbit? | Gravity |
| What does the galaxy revolve around? | Universe |
| What revolves around a galaxy? | Solar System (*The sun, a star, is part of the solar system.) |
| How often do tides occur? | every 6 hours, low and high tides occur twice a day |
| What is the main cause of ocean tides? | moon's gravity |
| What is rotation? | The Earth spinning on its own axis. This gives us day and night. |
