Unit 9-Adaptations

TermDefinition
Adaptations Structure, behavior, or another trait in an organism that helps it survive in its environment.
Camouflage Coloration of an organism that is designed to trick other organisms or to help hide from predators
Mimicry copying or resembling another organism or object in order to trick other organisms and avoid being eaten.
Defense Mechanism something an organism does in order to help protect it from predators
Predator any organism that kills other organisms for food
Prey an animal or insect that is hunted by another for food.
