Solution Vocab.

TermDefinition
Solution A type of mixture, called a homogeneous mixture, that is the same throughout. (Not Easily Separated)
Solute A substance that is dissolved to make a solution.
Solvent A substance that dissolves a solute.
Suspension In a the particles are larger than those found in a _______. Instead of dissolving, these larger particles turn the liquid cloudy. Sometimes you can separate the components of a suspension by filtering the mixture.
Ionic Compound Compounds made up of ions.
Covalent Compound Compounds that separate into individual molecules.
