Animal Classification

TermDefinition
Classify when you group something
vertebrate an animal with a backbone
Amphibian a vertebrate that has moist skin. They start their lives in the water, but eventually will move to land.
Reptile animals with scales covering their bodies
Mammal animals that have fur or hair and give birth to their young
Invertebrate animals without backbones
Arthropods are invertebrates with jointed legs
Insect Its body has 3 main segments. Its head has 2 antennae, and it has 6 legs.
Fish lives in water and takes in oxygen through gills
Birds has feathers, wings, beaks and lays eggs
carnivore an animal that eats meat
herbivore an animal that eats plants
omnivore an animal that eats both meat and plants
