Three types of evidence prove Hess's theory of Sea-floor spreading. eruptions of molten material, magnetic strips in the rock of the ocean floor, and the ages of rocks.
In a process of taking tens of millions of years part of the ocean sinks back into mantle at ? Deep-ocean trenches
MId-ocean Ridges Underwater valleys where molten material comes up, and fills the valley between ridges.
Sonar A device that bounces off of underwater objects and then records the echoes of these sound waves.
Sea-floor Spreading Continually adds new material to the ocean floor.
Deep ocean trenches Deep ocean, water canyons
Subduction Ocean floor sinks beneath deep ocean trench and back into the mantle at convergent plate boundary
