What is a mountain? Very tall landform; comes to a peak
What is a volcano? Mountain with a vent formed by melted rock
What is a plain? Flat lands
What is a channel? A body of water that connects 2 larger bodies of water
What is a valley? A low place between mountains
What is a gully? A low valley worn away by water
What is a canyon? A deep valley with steep sides
What is a sand dune? A mound of sand created by wind
What does the continental shelf do? It connects the shore to the sea.
What are two things that describe the continental slope? It is steep and canyons form here.
What does the continental rise do? It connects the continent to the ocean floor.
What are two things that describe the ocean ridge? It is mostly flat and volcanoes / mountains form here.
