TermDefinition
Tropism The response of a plant tword or away from a stimulis
Hormone A chemical that affects growth and develpment
Auxin A plant hormone that speeds up the rate at which a plant's cells grow and comtrols a plant's response to light
Photoperiodim A plant's response to seasonal changes in the length of night and day
Critical night length The number of hours of darkness the determins the determinds wheather or not a plant will flower
Short-day plant A plant that flowers when the nights are longer then the plant's critical night length
Long-day plant A plant the flowers when the nights are shoter then the plant's critical night length
Day- nutral plant A plant with a flowering cycle that is not sensitive to periods of light and dark
Dormancy A period of time when an organiosm's growth or activity stops
