Phases of the Moon
| Question | Answer |

| Full Moon | The term used to describe the moon when it is completely lit. The middle of the 28 day cycle. |
| New Moon | The term used to describe the moon when none of it is lit. The beginning of the 28 day cycle. |
| First Quarter | The term used to describe the moon when the right half of the moon is lit. Occurs once 1 week has been completed. |
| Last Quarter | The term used to describe the moon when the left half is lit. This phases occurs once 3 weeks have been completed. |
| Waxing Crescent | The term used to describe the moon when a small amount of the right side of the moon is lit. Occurs when the moon is beginning to appear bigger. |
| Waxing Gibbous | The term used to describe the moon when almost all the moon is lit on the right side. Occurs when the moon is almost full. |
| Waning Crescent | The term used to describe the moon when a small amount of the left side is lit. Occurs when the moon is almost back to the beginning of the cycle. |
| Waning Gibbous | The term used to describe the moon when almost all the left side is lit. Occurs when the moon has just been full and it seems to be getting smaller. |
