Sporophyte The stage in the life cycle of a plant in which a plant produces spores
Gametophyte The stage in a life cycle which the plant produces gametes, or sex cells
Annual A flowering plant that completes its life cycle in one growing season
Biennial A flowering plant the completes its life cycle in 2 years
Perennial A flowering plant that lives over 2 years
Fertilization The process of sexual reproduction in which egg cells and a sperm cell join to make a new cell
Zygote A fertilized egg, produced by the joining of a sperm call and an egg cell
Cone The reproductive structure of a gymnosperm
Ovule A plant structure in seed plants that produces the female gametophyte; contain an egg cell.
Fruit The ripened ovary and other structures of an angiosperm that enclose one or more seeds.
Pistils Female part of a flower that includes stigma style and ovary
