Grains Vocabulary:
Grain natural seeds used for food and crops
Flour powdered seed used for cooking
Bran outer layer of a kernel
Germ embryo; used to sprout a new plant
Endosperm largest inner proportion; provides the germ’s food supply
Whole grain all of the parts and nutrients of the grain seed
Refined grain milled grains, which removes the bran and germ
Fiber carbohydrates that are not digestible
Complex carbohydrates starch

Amylose long chain like material; starch
Amylase any of several digestive enzymes that break down starches
