What are tides caused by? the differences in how much the moon's gravity pulls on different parts of the earth

Why don't we have a total solar eclipse every month? the moon's orbit is tilted at a 5 degree angle from the earth's orbit and is rarely in a straight line with the sun and the earth
How much of the moon is illuminated during ANY moon phase? 50%
What is the order that the sun, Earth, and moon need to be in for a solar eclipse? sun, moon, earth
What is the order that the sun, Earth, and moon need to be in for a lunar eclipse? sun, earth, moon
What MAINLY causes our tides to occur? the moon's gravitational pull
What also causes tides to occur? the sun's gravitational pull
What causes day & night to occur on Earth? Earth's rotation
What causes us to have different seasons? the tilt of earth's axis
What would happen if the earth were not tilted on its axis? temperatures would remain constant
