Koeppen Classification System the most widely used classification system that classifies climate using temperature and precipitation; narrowed into six categories; tropical, arid, mesothermal, microthermal, polar, and highland
microclimate environmental conditions within a small area that differs significantly from the climate of the surrounding area
El Nino a warm ocean current that flows along the equator from the date line and south off the coast of Ecuador at Christmas time; a climate variation that takes place in the tropical Pacific about every 3-7 years for a duration of about one year
Maunder Minimum period of low sunspot activity that corresponded to the Little Ice Age in Europe
season Earth's tilt in combination with its orbit around the Sun cause the ______. A period of the year characterized by particular conditions of weather, and temperature
